12. September 2026 | 19:00 – 20:00
Lorena Atrakzy (Israel/Palästina), Dimitra Kandia (Griechenland), Angel Monaco (Italien), Saraï O’gara (Spanien), Johanna Schlottke (Deutschland).

Since its official founding in 2020, the five members of the Perperúna Ensemble, driven by their shared passion for Greek, Balkan, and Sephardic oral traditions, have focused on researching, preserving, reinterpreting, and passing on female polyphonic singing, often incorporating performative elements.
With a collection of reinterpreted folk songs and their hidden stories, inspired by vanishing cultural heritage, they create a unique contemporary polyphonic sound and invite audiences into an immersive world of sonic diversity from the Balkans and the Mediterranean diaspora.
Perperúna’s interpretations are not traditionally static, but contemporary, curious, and playful. They span a vibrant, genre-crossing spectrum from gentle, moving sounds to powerful, celebratory, and captivating singing.
Perperúna consists of:
